Prof Nobuyuki Iwatsuki

Prof Nobuyuki Iwatsuki has served as Vice President for Global Communication at Tokyo Institute of Technology since October 2020. Prior to this, Prof Iwatsuki served as Dean at School of Engineering, Professor at Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Associate Professor at Faculty of Engineering and Research Associate, Precision and Intelligence Laboratory, all in Tokyo Institute of Technology.
Prof Iwatsuki graduated from Tokyo Institute of Technology where he received his bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in mechanical engineering in 1982, 1984, and 1987 respectively. Prof Iwatsuki’s research interests include Synthesis and Control of Robotic Mechanisms, Silent Engineering and Application of Functional Materials Actuators to Mechanical Systems.
Throughout his academic career, Prof Iwatsuki has won many awards and recognitions. They include 2006 JSME Machine Design and Tribology Division Best Presentation Award, 2007 JSPE Autumn Conference Best Organizer Award, 2009 Tokyo Tech Education Award (Best Educator Award), 2011 JSME Machine Design and Tribology Division Achievement Award, 2015 JSDE Spring Conference Best Presentation Award, 2016 ICMT2016 Best Presentation Award and 2018 ICMT2018 Achievement Award.
Active in academic and professional societies, Prof Iwatsuki provides his service contribution in the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, Japan Society for Precision Engineering, The Robotics Society of Japan, Japan Society for Design Engineering, Japanese Council for the Theory of Machines and Mechanisms, The Japan Society of Applied Electromagnetics and Mechanics, Japanese Society for Engineering Education and The Engineering Academy of Japan Inc.
