FACTS is a university facility set up to provide state of the art instrumentation, expert support and training for advanced characterization of materials. It aspires to be a leading characterization Centre and to be an integral part of research activity related to characterization at and beyond NTU.
The facility hosts a range of advanced electron and X-ray beam based instrumentation for the chemical, structural and morphological analysis of materials, together with associated specimen preparation tools. Equipment usage training is offered to users at introductory and expert level. Staff scientists are available for expert advice and operation of these instruments.
FACTS scientists conduct independent and collaborative research in all fields of materials science and engineering. These studies often involve local and international collaborators, and proposals by potential collaborators are always welcome.
