With a faculty strength of over 150 professors, the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering is one of the largest mechanical engineering schools in the world.
The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering consists of six divisions. They are the Division of Aerospace Engineering, Division of Engineering Mechanics, Division of Manufacturing Engineering, Division of Mechatronics and Design, Division of Systems and Engineering Management, and Division of Thermal and Fluids Engineering.
Two full-time Bachelor of Engineering programmes are offered at the School. They are the Mechanical Engineering degree programme, and the first and only Aerospace Engineering degree programme in Singapore. In addition, the School also offers the Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) programme on a part-time basis, and eight Master of Science programmes that can be undertaken on a full- or part-time basis. Finally, the School also admits students for the Master of Engineering and Doctor of Philosophy programmes by research.
The quality of the School’s programmes continually comes up for mention internationally and its programmes are held up as a model of excellence in both teaching and research. As a result, the School draws the brightest minds from around the world.
To nurture innovative, cross-disciplinary mechanical and aerospace engineering graduates, the School fosters a stimulating environment where ideas are exchanged and talents harnessed. For this, the School establishes strong strategic alliances with universities in many countries, including the Georgia Institute of Technology, Shanghai Jiaotong University and Lulea University.
