​NTU – 1st in Asia and 2nd in the World for Engineering

NTU leads the Asian and European universities in Engineering.

NTU is ranked 2nd in the world, just after Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), in the 2016 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) for the field of Engineering/Technology and Computer Sciences that is published by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy. Stanford University shared the second position with NTU.

An upward jump of 9 spots from 2015, NTU is now the No. 1 University in Asia for Engineering/Technology and Computer Sciences. This is the College’s best performance since the ARWU for the field of Engineering/Technology and Computer Science debuted in 2007.

Additionally, ShanghaiRanking Consultancy publishes the ShanghaiRanking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2016, which NTU College of Engineering put up a stellar performance in the various Engineering subjects. The respective subject rankings are:

Electrical and Electronic Engineering: 4th
Materials Science and Engineering: 10th
Mechanical Engineering: 16th
Civil Engineering: 23rd
Chemical Engineering: 32nd

Our remarkable achievements in both rankings are testament to the College’s efforts and commitment in research, education and faculty recruitment. They also reflect the high quality of our faculty members in research and teaching.
