In the newly released ShanghaiRanking's Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2017 by the ShanghaiRanking Consultancy, NTU College of Engineering puts in an exceptional performance, with 2 subjects ranked world's best and 9 subjects ranked No. 1 in Singapore.

NTU tops the charts for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology; and Energy Science and Engineering. With 2 subjects claiming pole positions, NTU is the only university in Asia to be ranked 1st in the world for more than one subject.

NTU is also No. 1 in Singapore for 9 disciplines: Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (1st globally); Energy Science and Engineering (1st globally); Telecommunication Engineering (3rd globally); Electrical and Electronic Engineering (6th globally and 1st in Asia); Civil Engineering (14th globally); Automation and Control (17th globally); Computer Science and Engineering (17th globally); Materials Science and Engineering (20th globally) and Mechanical Engineering (29th globally).

Besides the latest ShanghaiRanking's GRAS 2017, NTU College of Engineering was also ranked among the world's best in other international academic league tables.

The College was ranked 2nd in the world, just after Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), in the 2016 Academic Ranking of World Universities for the field of Engineering/Technology and Computer Sciences by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy. In the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by Subject 2017, the College was ranked first in Asia and Singapore and 4th in the world for Engineering and Technology. ​
